Togashi YoshidaTogashi Yoshida is the son of the Togashi family daimyo, Togashi Satsu, a descendant of the original clan founder. He is also the cousin of the former Dragon clan champion, Mirumoto Yokuni. Although a powerful shugenja and member of the monastic order, the ize zume, Yoshida is a skilled martial artist and swordsman. Before attending shugenja school, he did train with the sword extensively with Yokuni and at times Grandmaster Hitomi Tetsuo. He has never stopped practicing. His often uses his shugenja skills to augment his prowess with a blade. He does use the Mirumoto style of two-sword fighting. Upon hearing of the death of his cousin and childhood friend, Yokuni, Yoshida was very saddened. He was asked by Yama (who was encouraged strongly by Yodin and Togashi Satsu) to join the current line of Mirumotos in a leadership (and protective) role. This was strongly encouraged by his father, Satsu, who many were surprised was not making a play for clan champion himself. Eventually, Yama offered the title of Clan Champion to Yoshida, as his responsibilities as General didn’t afford him enough time for the role. Yoshida is a thoughtful, even-tempered, charismatic man, and not without a sense of humor. Many notice the similarities between he and his cousin Yokuni. Though he and Yama don’t see eye-to-eye on several issues, they have a respectful relationship. Yoshida and Yodin get along quite well, both coming from the same monastic order and having a similar worldview. Yoshida finds that his ideas often carry more weight with Yama when sent indirectly through, Yodin. Though the official clan champion and voice of the clan, Yoshida does share power in Dragon provinces nearly equally with General Yama and his brother, Yodin. Since becoming Clan Champion, Yoshida has managed to restore the legendary Mountain Forge of Togashi and defeated the dreaded Obsidian Dragon in an epic battle in the province of Kitsuki, leading to the recovery of the ancestral sword of the Dragon Clan. Though not a student of the Mirumoto Bushi school, he is well-versed in the practice of that fighting style, and many believe he is the best swordsman in the provinces…if not the Empire. |

General Mirumoto YamaMirumoto Yakuzi, former champion of the Dragon Clan, had three sons. His eldest, Yama, has proven to be a gifted military tactician, and now is the general of the Dragon armies. Once thought to be the one who would replace his father (now deceased) as the Clan's champion, Yama has been far too obsessed with military matters to get too heavily involved in other aspects of clan business. Yama is also a practitioner of the Mirumoto dueling technique. Upon the death of his brother and Clan Champion, Yokuni, Yama did briefly serve as Clan Champion himself. He has since given that title, and delegated most of the responsibility for clan affairs, to his cousin, Togashi Yoshida. However, as General, he does still wield much respect and authority, and Yoshida does confer with him all major clan matters. In the last year, Yama has had great successes on the battle field, having lead 4 successful battles (reclaiming Agasha, taking Nodai, defeating Tonsu and the Bloodspeakers in Hitomi, and taking Shiba from the Gaijin). He also lead Dragon forces in support of the retaking of Nodai under General Hideaki of the Lion. Though he was not present, Yama planned the successful strikes against the Phoenix in Goimo and Mori. Yama has yet to participate in a losing battle, though he does harbor some guilt for putting Kitsuki Higoshi in a position of defending Nodai (which was occupied by the Gaijin for one month) with lack of actual battle experience. He insisted that Higoshi’s funeral was with full honors and with the title of general on his tomb. |

Togashi Yodin: The SeekerTogashi Yodin (formerly Mirumoto Yodin), who has dedicated his life to uncovering lost knowledge that will help bring his Clan and the Empire to enlightenment. After becoming one of the ize zume, Yodin took the name of Clan founder Togashi. Yodin, sometimes referred to as The Seeker (a nickname given to him by Yokuni), is an accomplished martial artist. Seeking to perfect his mind as well as his body, he often seeks out strange and hidden locations to test his skills. Yodin has managed to help discover and explore many locations in Dragon lands, one of which lead to the recovery of the Dragon Claw Katana. Though he also located the Dragon Clan’s ancestral sword, he was temporarily turned to stone in an attempt to recover it. His cousin, Togashi Yoshida, managed to rescue him. Besides being a good advisor to both Yoshida and Yama, he has proven himself a decent military tactician. He has lead Dragon forces to victories in the reclaiming of Togashi province, and in the liberation of Goimo from the dark rule of the Phoenix. |

Kitsuki SatoKitsuki Sato is a student of the Kitsuki method of investigation. As such, he is highly gifted at deductive logic and evidence examination. He was a distant relative of former Dragon Clan Inquisitor, Kitsuki Higoshi, and was recommended to Togashi Yoshida as a replacement after Higoshi’s death. Though still relatively active and in good health at age 50, he did suffer a leg injury during a horse-riding accident when he was a child that left him with a limp in his right leg which affects his ability to move around. Though he can walk, he is not terribly mobile and often uses a cane to help him keep his balance. |
